FAQ:

How do I find a consultant?

Capacity-building grant recipients are not required to work with a particular consultant, although their selection of consultant is part of the application process. A good way to find consultants is to ask peer organizations for referrals. For applicants that need help finding a consultant, the Arts Work Fund staff can also serve as a resource.

How many consultant bids should I solicit before selecting one for our project?

Applicants are strongly encouraged to solicit at least three bids from possible consultants prior to selecting the one identified in the application to the Fund. Organizations submitting proposals with fewer bids should explain why competitive bidding was not pursued.

Will receiving a grant from the Arts Work Fund jeopardize my ability to apply for funds from AWF member organizations?

Receiving a grant from the Arts Work Fund does not impact an organization’s ability to apply separately to funders that are members of the Arts Work Fund collaborative.

My program is a part of a larger institution, can we apply for funding?

Programs connected to colleges, universities, or religious organizations are not eligible for Arts Work Fund Grantsd, even if the program is operated separately.

The Arts Work Fund invests in the financial sustainability, management, governance and growth capacities of small arts and cultural organizations located in the Chicago metropolitan region.
